Entry: Dances and Testing Jun 7, 2009

So yesterday my mom woke me up at 6:30 despite the fact that my SATs didn't start until 7:45. Her excuse? "It takes fifteen minutes to get there and I want you to get some breakfast before then." We ended up getting there are at 7:20. Then I stood around forever, but I had a few friends in the testing room, so it was all right. I got to sit next to Violet, who I've known since grade school and Rumor has known even longer. There weren't assigned seats (odd) so we sat next to each other and discovered we were both going to Rumor's dance recital that evening. Werewolf was there too, and we spoke over the breaks about Ben's sister and about the religious football guy and stuff.

It was an insanely long test but it wasn't as hard as I'd imagined. It was basically just like the PSATs only longer.I knew the math would be my weak spot but I did what I could, and a lot of the English was a total piece of cake. I left the building feeling like I needed another eight hours of sleep but accomplished nonetheless.

Afterwards I practiced a little bit of driving and got Rumor's flowers (which took way too long and involved a fairly hostile floral manager yelling about how she was outside watering the flowers because "If I don't water them, they don't get watered!") and soon enough it was time for the recital. Violet and Ashby and Ashby's grandma and Rumor's parents and brother  were all in attendence, and the show was really good. I really like watching Rumor dance. She can say what she wants about it, but I think she's one of the most natural dancers I know. It totally killed me to dance in Much Ado (I have video of it now), so I hold anyone who can do it in  great esteem. I hope she liked the flowers. There are some people I just always want to make happy and she's one of them.

After the show, we all went out for ice cream. We  got out at 10:30, and it was eleven by the time I was back home because of all the dropping off. I was exhausted and fell straight asleep. I think I had some weird dream but I don't remember it.

Today has been quiet and the only thing we really did was go up to my grandma's house to pick up the lawn mower. I was instructed in the art of driving stick shift (though I haven't actually tried it yet, I was just given a quick lesson).

Later.
