So here's how everything's been going since I last updated. Maia ended up letting me go. It was the most idiotic thing...she didn't bother to tell me I didn't have a job anymore until two weeks later, after me continuously emailing, texting and calling her asking when I next worked. Ugh. How rude. I've been busy applying everywhere else; so far, nobody needs a little cashier or fry cook, but a lot of people have been saying they'll be needing help later, so maybe that'll go somewhere. Fourth of July was pretty boring, just visiting my grandma and not even seeing any fireworks. Last fourth of July, Lennon invited me over to go swimming at his grandpa's house and that's sort of where everything started between us. He was seeing another girl at the time, and we weren't doing anything I would get mad at a boyfriend for doing with another girl--just talking. But the other girl didn't last too long after that. Oh, drama. Mostly I spent the summer going to the movies with Rumor, writing in the notebook to Winchester, reading Encyclopedia Dramatica, going to the Harry Potter midnight show with Sej, playing with the cat, and trying to get my schedule for senior year in order. (I have an appointment with the guidance office to get it fixed on Tuesday.) I regret to say I haven't been working with particular diligence on my story "The Wicked and the Tamed", but I'm always much lazier during the summer than in the school year, so hopefully it'll pick up once school starts. I went to the ocean again, with my dad's family this time. It was only for two days, and it rained most of the time, but it was still pretty fun. I got to swim in the ocean for awhile (who needs a pool when you have the ocean?) and roam the boardwalk with my cousins. And we ate at Lombardi's, which I almost thought I was going to pass a summer without doing. Lombardi's is a tradition and to break it would be a sin. I also got my SAT scores (1900) and AP scores (5 in English Language, 3 in APES, but I knew I wasn't going to ace that anyway.) Next step--applying for college! Where has the time gone? Wasn't I just three years old, in an apartment in Iowa City driving my parents crazy with my Barbie Skydancers? How did I get here? I've also been considering how different it's going to be with so many people leaving my school, either graduating or going to the art school. No more Rumor, Lennon, Cip, Tohru, Doro, Squish, Three, Ashby, Captain Emo, Demosky, Havok, Sakura, Ivory, Green...good god. I made too many senior friends last year. Well, the crew, Winchester, Kelpie, Fedling and Darwin will still be around, so I won't get too lonely, even though I'll miss Rumor a lot. It's been awhile, but now regular posts will be regular. Promise. |
